Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop the kernel/middleware software to integrate low level device and high level application
  • Lead and track projects related to software QA milestone requirements for your team
  • Fully participate in test planning and technical communications within the team and with QA manager
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including technology and development to ensure alignment with business objectives and client expectations

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, EE or the equivalent (Masters &/or PhD are assets)
  • A minimum 3 years C/C++ development
  • A minimum of 3years+ experience engaged in RTOS development environment
  • Proven experience executing QA efforts on moderate- to high-complexity projects and a variety of software/hardware initiatives
  • Software development experience in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Experience with Linux kernel and device drivers
  • Experience with embedded software development and debugging
  • Capable of switching focus in various (exception) situations and adapting quickly to learning new technologies and adopting new methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of encryption and security technologies is strongly desirable
  • Knowledge of network interface, video streaming, hardware (USB, Ethernet, etc) is considered an asset
  • Understanding of electronic schematic / PCB and basic board debugging is considered an asset
