We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer to develop innovative and creative solutions for unique engineering challenges by drawing upon his/her technical talent, passion, creativity and experience. As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop the Firmware/Embedded Software for the IoT SoC project. You will work closely with your team of HW and FW engineers to develop and implement firmware code for competitive and differentiating features and performance capabilities which will make this product unique and superior. You must have expertise in IoT, cellular, WiFi/Bluetooth, PLC at the low-level Firmware and Firmware/HW boundaries. You have refined your programming skills through the development of embedded software systems that include RTOS, applications, board support package and low level libraries. Responsibilities ? Collaborate with the Firmware architect and understand the Firmware architecture of the IoT SoC project ? Develop an overall understanding of the IoT system and chip architecture and features, use cases and KPIs ? Create a development and implementation plan to meet scheduling, technical and cost requirements ? Develop your firmware code according to the project schedules and milestones ? Initiate and conduct code reviews, track features and issues to closure ? Ensure the firmware implementation is efficient and make adjustments and trade offs if and when necessary. ? Drive performance and power optimizations to meet and exceed established KPIs ? Actively participate in the evaluation and selection of Firmware IP vendors and 3rd party solution providers ? Closely collaborate with the Firmware and HW engineering teams - Ensure the various Firmware code sections fit and interoperate according to specification - Ensure that the Firmware and HW interfaces are fully and properly defined and understood ? Actively participate in the Si bringup Qualifications Technical Skills, Experience and Qualifications ? Minimum 5 to 10 years of solid and demonstrable experience in firmware development for embedded systems ? Significant experience in embedded system Firmware development (various stacks and layers, RTOS, BSP, bootloader, etc.) and understanding of the low level HW/Firmware boundaries in as many of the following domains as possible; - IoT - LTE (specially Cat M1/M2, NB-IoT) - Power Line Communication - Short Range Wireless (802.11.xx, 802.15.xx) - GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Beidou, Glonass) - RISC processor and DSP based multi-processor systems - Memory, Flash, Interconnect, Cache - Security and Cryptography - IO technology (USB, I2C, UART, SPI, etc.) ? RTOS Kernel as well as low level Firmware development ? Virtualization, TrustZone, Root of Trust, etc. ? C++ and object oriented programming and debug ? Assembly language ? Scripting and Firmware engineering infrastructure ? Compiler technology, Makefile ? Embedded software debugging and analysis tools (e.g. JTAG, GDB, etc.) ? Agile software methodologies ? Revision control and Issue tracking tools ? Performance, functional and power modelling, profiling and analysis Leadership and Communication Skills ?
